Submission Grappling & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. Submission Grappling & BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger, heavier assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and choke holds to defeat the opponent.
New Brazilian JiuJitsu class starting at TheFightLab. Taught by UK Ultra Heavyweight Brazilian jiu-jitsu Champion & Combat Base Black belt Mark ‘Spenna’ Spencer. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the world’s fastest growing martial arts. Students of all ages and from all walks of life practice the art for a variety of reasons, including self defence, fitness, camaraderie, stress relief, and fun. And while it has only recently come into the public consciousness due to the popularity of mixed martial arts competitions such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, its origins can be traced back several centuries.
Starts 27th November 8pm
