This is the program you’ve been looking for to take your combat sports training to a higher level. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) (commonly referred to as “MMA”) is a sport (popularised by the UFC), in which two competitors attempt to defeat each other by utilising a wide variety of techniques, including striking and grappling. This program, based in Huddersfield, blends the key elements of Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Wrestling, Boxing and Conditioning.
The FightLab offers a structured curriculum presented by fully qualified instructors in a safe yet competitive training environment. Training is given by Muay Thai coach & MMA coach Kru Mark Rawson with additional input by Team Fulinkazan/SBG Bradford coach, English MMA team coach & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Mark 'Spenna' Spencer.  Come along on our next training night and speak with our friendly staff and students.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques. The rules allow the use of striking & clinch techniques from Muay Thai & grappling from Wrestling, both while standing and on the ground. The sport is one of the fastest growing in the world and can be seen in such events as the 'The Ultimate Fighting Championships". Clinch work, striking, takedowns, submissions, "ground n' pound" and escapes are all covered in detail.

Our approach to grappling is based on achieving and maintaining a dominant position in order to implement striking or submissions. There are 6 primary positions, each with many variations.
