MMA

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques. The rules allow the use of striking & clinch techniques from Muay Thai & grappling from Wrestling, both while standing and on the ground. The sport is one of the fastest growing in the world and can be seen in such events as the 'The Ultimate Fighting Championships". Clinch work, striking, takedowns, submissions, "ground n' pound" and escapes are all covered in detail.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai or Thai Boxing is the national sport and cultural martial art of Thailand. It was developed several hundreds of years ago as a form of combat that utilises the entire body as a weapon. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on shins is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterised by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient.

Grading Syllabus

Our grading syllabus incorporates traditional Muay Thai with the addition of submission grappling techniques both standing and on the floor. Each grade is awarded with a coloured Prajioud, the traditional arm band of Muay Thai. Grades are awarded not just on demonstration of syllabus, but hard work in training & competition.

About The Coach
